“Color is a power which directly influences the soul.” ― Wassily Kandinsky
Pop preschoolers have been looking for and documenting the colors in their worlds. It turns out, colors are EVERYWHERE! We also discovered that colors can make us feel. Some colors make us feel happy, excited, or "dancy" and some make us feel peaceful and calm.
What would it be like to live in a gray world with no color? “Sad” “Boring” “Everything would be the same.” “I wouldn’t like that one bit.”
These long Covid days and months can seem awfully gray and dreary. Yet, these children are full of smiles, laughter, joy, love, and colorful spirits. Inspired by the POP Preschooler's colorful hearts and spirits, we are spreading that color around in our world
Speading Color. Spreading Happy.
If colors make us feel happy, can we help other people feel happy just by spreading a little color? “Yes, they will see the color that we make, and they will get happy from it!!” --R, age 4
You can help #colorourworld too! Just POP and DROP some color somewhere in the world. Place a little color somewhere for people to see.
Take a photo of the how and where you are spreading color (and happys!). Share it on instagram and tag us @preucilpreschool #colorourworld #colorpop
--place a piece of color in special spots for people to find and see (a color stone, a piece of yarn, a leaf, a block of colored wood, etc.) --put color on our sidewalks --make colorful pictures and hang them in our windows for people to see ---send colorful cards to people --put a color wheel spinner in your yard for everyone to see --wrap colorful yarn around a stick and hang on a tree or fence.
Our list of possibilities is growing and we hope you'll help us add ideas!
